How to Make a Crafting Table in Minecraft
The Crafting Table (also known as a Workbench) is the single most essential block in Minecraft. It expands your 2x2 inventory crafting grid into a full 3x3 crafting grid, allowing you to craft tools, weapons, armor, pistons, and advanced mechanisms.
Gather Wood Logs from Any Tree
Punch or chop any tree (Oak, Birch, Spruce, Dark Oak, Acacia, Cherry, or Mangrove) with your bare fist or an axe to collect at least 1 Wood Log.
Open Your Player Inventory
Press the E key on your keyboard (or Triangle/Y on controller) to open your player inventory. You will see a small 2x2 crafting grid next to your character.
Convert Log into 4 Wooden Planks
Place the wood log into any single slot of the 2x2 crafting grid. Click on the output slot to take your 4 Wooden Planks.
Fill the 2x2 Grid with Planks
Place 1 wooden plank in each of the 4 slots of your 2x2 crafting grid. The output slot will yield 1 Crafting Table!
